Kitchen Floor Sanding Brisbane
Precision Around Every ApplianceWhy Kitchen Floors Deserve Precision
Kitchens aren’t just high-traffic zones, they’re emotional landscapes. From morning coffee spills to the shuffle of dinner prep, timber floors in kitchens endure more than most. That’s why our sanding process is tailored to the quirks of cabinetry, appliance recesses, and the rhythm of daily life.
We don’t just sand floors, we restore the soul of your kitchen, one board at a time.
Precision Sanding Around Every Cabinet and Appliance
Fridge Recesses: We sand inside the fridge cavity and offer flexible options — full removal or partial coat with a return glide. Either way, the result is seamless.
Dishwasher Spaces: These are usually left in place, but if removed, we sand and coat the entire recess with care.
Electric & Gas Stoves: We work with extended cables or long-nosed sanders to reach behind. If you prefer full removal, we’re happy to coat the entire space.
Kickboards: We hand-scrape 2 to 4mm right up to the edge — no damage, no compromise. The finish is so precise, it looks as if the kitchen was installed after the floors.
Pantry Interiors: Yes, we do inside pantries too — because every corner deserves care.
Planning a Kitchen Renovation? Sand Last, Not First.
Cabinet installers often use ladders, drills, and heavy tools that can dent or scratch a freshly finished floor.
Kickboards and panels may shift slightly during install, making a pre-sanded floor look uneven.
Sanding after install ensures a clean edge, a flush finish, and no costly touch-ups.
We coordinate with your renovation timeline to deliver a flawless result, no surprises, no damage, just beautifully restored timber beneath your new kitchen.

Protect Your Finish. Preserve the Craft
Once your kitchen floor is sanded and polished, it deserves care that matches the craftsmanship. One common mistake? Rolling the fridge straight back in.
Those four tiny wheels carry serious weight, enough to dent timber and leave permanent tracks. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
Use two sheets of 3mm MDF, larger than your fridge base
Roll the fridge onto the sheets, then walk them forward across the floor
This method protects both the timber and the coating
We explain this in more detail on our Floor Care Page, because our job doesn’t end when the polish dries. It ends when your floor stays flawless.

❓ FAQ – Kitchen Floor Sanding Brisbane
Q: Do I need to move my fridge before sanding? A: Yes, it’s best practice to move the fridge out to ensure a seamless finish inside the recess. If it’s a tight fit, we can sand and apply one coat, then roll it back in and finish around it.
Q: Can you sand behind my dishwasher? A: Dishwashers are usually left in place. If you arrange removal, we’re happy to sand and apply all three coats inside the recess.
Q: What about upright stoves — electric or gas? A: Electric stoves often have extended cables, allowing us to reach behind. Gas stoves on legs can be sanded approximately 300mm back. Full removal by a licensed fitter allows for a perfect result.
Q: Will my kickboards get damaged? A: No. We hand-scrape beneath kickboards and guarantee in writing that your cabinetry will remain undamaged.
Q: Should I sand before or after installing a new kitchen? A: Always sand after installation. This avoids damage from tools and ensures a clean, flush finish.
Q: How do I return my fridge without damaging the floor? A: Use two sheets of 3mm MDF larger than the fridge base. Roll the fridge onto them and walk the sheets forward. We explain this further on our Floor Care page.
